Striper Fishing

Starting late march through early June the Striped Bass (Stripers) start running up the Sacramento River. From the Pacific Ocean to their yearly spawning ritual, these fish come up in the massive schools and are usually easy to catch. These Stripers are aggressive feeders and good strong fighters, catching limits of fish is common. Stripers grow very large, with a 20 pound fish not being uncommon. Most fish will be in the 3 to 8 pound range. You never know when that big fish will hit the bait. These Stripers make some of the best table fare there is.

Most fishing is done in the Colusa & Tisdole Area. Common fishing methods for Stripers are drifting live minnows or trolling plugs. Come enjoy the fun and don't be afraid to bring the whole family. Stripers are a blast to catch and fun for every age group.
